Absegami High School Emanon Players did it again with their performance of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”. Directed by Chip Garrison, the musical based on the comic strip “Peanuts” by Charles M. Schulz, is a salute to everyone’s favorite “lovable loser” Charlie Brown, his engimatic beagle Snoopy and his friends. The original Broadway show ran in 1967 and was revised with updated music in 1999. There’s something about the holiday season that makes us long for our memories of childhood. Charles Schulz’s characters recapture all that was sweet and innocent about childhood, and allows us to look back with fresh eyes on our own experiences growing up said Chip Garrison.

Spencer Lyons did a fantastic job in capturing the true essence of Charlie Brown’s character, and what would be Charlie Brown without his faithful companion Snoopy played by Coby Alavez. The music, dancing, and dead on acting of this wonderful cast is to be commended for three nights of fun loving performances. These Emanon Players are phenomenally talented and you should get out and experience it. Check out their next performance of “Mary Poppins” March 10, 11, and 12
